Gordon Park was designed by landscape architect John T. Withers sometime around 1907. The 5.7 acre park is noted for it's sculptures of 'Buffalo and Bears.' The larger-than-life statues were created by Solon Hannibal Borglum, an artist who was influenced from spending years on the Western plains of Utah and later Nebraska, where his father owned a ranch. An iron fence anchored in concrete piers surrounds the park and in the center is a circular gazebo and bandstand. |
