How to Safely Receive All Email from RDNY.com

Follow these easy steps to make sure you receive your RDNY.com email alerts. Unsolicited e-mails, commonly known as SPAM, have become a huge problem online these days. Many ISPs and e-mail providers have installed spam-filters or use blacklists in order to weed out all of those unwanted SPAM e-mails. To ensure your e-mail alerts are delivered to your AOL inbox (not the Bulk Mail or Junk Mail folder), you can instruct AOL to filter it to your Inbox. Here's how:

1. Open your latest RDNY.com e-mail.
2. Click the Add Address button (over on the right) to add RDNY.com to your "People I Know" list.

Alternatively, you can just send an e-mail to the RDNY.com "From" address, and that will add us to your "People I Know" list automatically.

1. Open your latest RDNY.com e-mail.
2. Copy the address in the "From" line.
3. Click the Reply button (it's in the top right corner).
4. A new email window opens with an address pre-filled in the "Send To" box.
5. Replace the address in the Send To box with the one you copied out of the "From" line.
6. Click Send Now (it's in the top right corner).

Even if the e-mail you send doesn't get through to us (for whatever reason), the act of sending it does the job of putting RDNY.com into your "People I Know" list — and that's what counts.

If you're using an earlier version of AOL, you'll need to set your Mail Controls instead. Here's how:

GMail

1. Open the latest issue of the e-mail you want to whitelist.
2. Click on the "More Options" link. It's on the title of the email, over on the right, next to the date. (If you see "Hide Options" instead, then you already have the extra options visible and can just skip this step.)
3. When the extra options are visible (just below the subject line), click the "Add Sender to Contacts" list link.

Alternatively, you can just send an e-mail to Mailserver@RDNY.com, and that will add the address to your Contacts list automatically. Even if the e-mail you send doesn't get through (for whatever reason), the act of sending it does the job of putting the address into your Contacts list — and that's what counts.

If one of your RDNY.com e-mails has been filtered into the Spam folder, you can prevent that ever happening again:

1. Click on the Spam link to open your Spam folder.
2. Click on the wrongly filtered e-mail to open it.
3. Click the "Not Spam" button at the top of the e-mail (right next to "Delete Forever").

Yahoo!

1. Open your Yahoo mailbox.
2. Click "Mail Options".
3. Click Filters.
4. Next, click "Add Filter".
5. In the top row, labeled From header:, make sure contains is selected in the pull-down menu.
6. Click in the text box next to that pull-down menu, then enter the address in the "From" line of your most recent RDNY.com e-mail.
7. At the bottom, where it says Move the message to, select Inbox from the pull-down menu.
8. Click the Add Filter button again.

Hotmail

1. Log on and click the Mail tab to get into your mailbox.
2. Click Options (it's over at the top right, next to Help).
3. Click "Junk e-Mail Protection".
4. Select Safe List.
5. In the space provided, enter the address in the "From" line of your most recent RDNY.com e-mail.
6. Click Add.
7. When you see the address you entered in the Safe List box, click OK.

Alternatively, you can add RDNY.com "From" address to your Contacts list:

Outlook

1. Open any RDNY.com e-mail, then add the sender or the sender's domain to your Safe List.

MSN

EarthLink

3. Click on Address Book (it's over on the left, below your Folders).

5. On the Add Contact screen, find the Internet Information box.
6. Enter the address you copied from the "From" line into the top Email box.

Verizon

1. Go to your Verizon Inbox.
2. Click Options.
3. Select the "Block Senders" tab (near the top of the screen).
4. On the Block Senders screen, you'll see both a "Block Sender List" and a "Safe List". In the space where it says, "Enter e-mail address or sub domain to always accept even if the domain is blocked", enter the address in the "From" line of your most recent RDNY.com e-mail.

Other

Many popular e-mail programs, including older versions of Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, and Netscape Mail, don't provide a convenient way for you to white-list the folks you want to receive e-mail from.
