As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users' movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information. We do analyze where individual IP addresses have come from to enter RDNY.com through tracking and web stat applications. No personal data is obtained through our tracking and stat information beyond the IP address of the visitor.
The information we collect via any tracking technologies is not in any way linked to any information that can be used to personally identify you.
We use session ID's in our urls. Our session ID's expire when you close your browser or go to a different url. Our session ID's also expire when there is more than 15 minutes of inactivity. Our session ID's allow us to make sure you are viewing the correct apartments that match your profile when there are multiple users online. Since new session ID's are generated every time you log in, they are not in any way related to your personal information in any way that can identify you.
We employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information.
How does RDNY.com use personal information?
We use the personal information you supply us, including your registration data, to enhance the RDNY.com service, fulfill your requests for products, programs, or services, personalize your experience and provide you or permit others to provide you with special offers we think you will find valuable. We also use other information obtained from user site traffic patterns to better provide you with a personalized experience and special advertising offers and promotions. We view personalized advertising as beneficial to our users.
RDNY.com uses the information described above to do, among other things, the following:
- Personalize and enhance the RDNY.com site and service such as advertisements we believe will be of interest to you.
- Send personalized information about RDNY.com and its site features, prizes and offers, unless you have opted out of receiving these types of communications.
- Send you advertising from third parties including selected and trusted RDNY.com partners, unless you have opted out of receiving these types of communications.
- Provide your personal information to selected 3rd parties that offer you additional benefits to the RDNY.com service, unless you have opted not to permit such sharing.
- Provide you with advertising and other promotional offers that we believe will be of interest to you.
- Contact users for feedback regarding RDNY.com and RDNY.com's partners via email surveys, telemarketing and Direct Marketing.
We may also use the information we collect to develop summary reports for our advertisers. An example of a summary report might be "100,000 people clicked on this link and of those people, 35% were registered users above the age of 25." We provide this information to assist our advertisers in determining how to promote their products. We do not tell our advertisers who it was that saw or clicked on their advertisements unless you have specifically told us this is acceptable.
Unless you have opted out of receiving special offers or emails from selected third parties, we also may provide a report to our advertiser which tells them who responded to a particular offer. For example, we might send you an email that offers you a discount on a particular service. If you click on that e-mail or accept an offer or discount contained therein, we may provide the advertiser with the information necessary to provide you with that discount or offer.
What choices are available to you regarding the collection, disclosure and distribution of personal information and how can you opt-out?
You can choose at any time after registration [both Guest members and Full Members], to opt out of receiving emails from RDNY.com or from having your personally identifiable information shared with selected companies that offer you free services as part of the Full Membership. If you want to opt out, you can do so by clicking here.
However, RDNY.com may continue to use your personal information for internal purposes, to conduct promotions, to enhance your user experience or as necessary to administer the site or comply with applicable law.
Who has access to your personally identifiable information?
All employees that we hire have to sign a confidentiality agreement that forbids them from disclosing any information to which the employee has access, to other individuals or entities. When an employee is terminated or is no longer with the company, we change the access codes that the employee used to access any customer accounts. Only those employees that are responsible for handling your account have access to your information. Additionally, employees in our information technology department may have access to your information in order to conduct routine checks on the integrity of our system and in order to perform necessary maintenance work.
In order to process your credit card we consult with an outside credit card processing company. These processing companies are regulated by the banking industry and must meet certain security requirements in order to be in business. The processing companies will have access to your credit card information, billing address, name, and possibly your telephone number. The processing company will communicate with the issuing bank of your credit card in order to get final approval to charge your credit card for the product or services we are providing for you. Additionally, judicial requests by a duly authorized court will require us to divulge certain information regarding your account should that situation arise. Finally, should our company ever be bought or sold, your account information would then become the property of the new owner/entity.
Can I correct or remove information from your site?
You always have the option to view your account to make sure the information we have collected from you correct. You also have the option of removing any information from your account that you wish to keep private. However, please note that removing certain information such as your email address, contact information, and the like may greatly hinder our ability to effectively provide the service or products you have requested. We recommend that you contact us first to discuss which information you may remove without interrupting the quality of service we intend to provide for you.
If your personally identifiable information changes, you may correct, update, or delete information by making the change on your member "Welcome" page when you log in to your account by clicking the "Change my search profile" or "Change my email preferences" link, or by emailing Customer Support at Info@RDNY.com or by contacting us via telephone or postal mail. See “Contact Us” at the bottom of this page for our mailing address and phone number.
Information about our "Tell A Friend" emails: If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend's name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. RDNY.com stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program.
Your friend may contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request that we remove this information from our database or write or call us.

Unless you have opted out after registration, RDNY.com may make your personally identifiable information available to selected companies. You can elect not to use certain services or participate in certain promotions if you do not want your information shared with the third parties who are sponsoring or administering such promotions.
